War Horse

Following requests by our Members, l went to see the award winning show War Horse, at The New London Theatre, London. The Show is quite amazing and the puppeteers fantastic, you do get drawn into the performance and you forget totally that you are not watching a real horse on stage. As a result, Teston Tours has arranged a coach outing to see War Horse, with seating in the Rear Stalls from where you will get an excellent view of the puppeteers and actors as they perform on stage for the 2.30 pm. matinee performance. There will also be ample time to visit Covent Garden, have lunch, visit the shops or sightsee before the Show begins.

At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert's beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. He's soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man's land. Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home. The National Theatres epic is based on War Horse, the celebrated novel by the Children's Laureate (2003-05) Michael Morpurgo. Actors working with magnificent, life-sized puppets by the internationally renowned Handspring Puppet Company lead us on a gripping journey through history.
